My passion is tackling complex challenges that others find daunting. While I began my career driven by pure innovation, I learned that the real goal isn't just creating new things, it's solving a real, unresolved need with a clear focus on value. This mindset is my primary driver. I execute this using structured frameworks (Design Thinking, C-K Theory, Lean Startup) and enhance my process by leveraging AI for advanced risk analysis, mass data aggregation, and impact assessment. It’s this drive that pushed me to the Head of Innovation role and gave me the resilience to move to New Zealand without a network. I am always asking "what's the next impossible thing?" and am most energized when working to make it a tangible reality.

I am at my best when I can see the direct impact of my work on a meaningful mission. My motivation is intrinsically tied to the "why" behind a project. For example, on a simulator project, knowing that our tool directly contributed to improving future aircraft security gave me a profound sense of purpose and drove my engagement for all subsequent projects. Conversely, this need for alignment is also why I pivoted away from being purely a VR expert; I felt it was sometimes in conflict with my core value of fostering true, real-world social interaction, and I will always seek to ensure the work I do is in harmony with the principles I believe in.

I am deeply people-focused and believe that true collaboration comes from empathy. For some of my projects, my main role was to bridge the gap between HR and IS teams, who had completely different priorities and technical languages. By working to understand and translate both perspectives, we were able to successfully deploy the new system. I developed this skill as well for another esperience, acting as the intermediate between corporate interests and research laboratories to find common ground. This curiosity is also personal; my experiences navigating life and work between my native France, my previous life in Andalusia, and now, my new life in New Zealand, have given me a unique and practical understanding of how to build genuine connection.

"I had the opportunity to work directly with Romain in 2022 during his assignment as HRIS Project Manager for our strategic harmonization program. The challenge was considerable: We needed to gain better visibility into the HR processes and IS infrastructures of eight European entities, characterized by a wide disparity in practices and significant operational complexity.
Romain took charge of this end-to-end audit project with exemplary professionalism and rigor. Faced with a complex multi-country environment and notable initial resistance, he successfully deployed an iterative and effective audit methodology, starting with a pilot before a general rollout. He acted as the central point of coordination, ensuring smooth communication between the French teams (IS and HR) and the local teams. His ability to design audit methods and conduct an integrated analysis of processes and systems was remarkable.
